HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Most people try to do special things on their birthday. I try to do everyday things that make my life special. First up will be lunch with my mom because it’s her “birth” day too, right? And as my mother will be ninety in March, these days are to be treasured. Then, I will grab my glove and get out and throw a baseball with anyone who will throw one back to me. To clarify, I have played baseball or softball on every birthday since I was twelve; it’s my favorite thing to do in the world and I’m playing a real game this weekend. Lastly, I will have dinner with Tracey and the kids and again pinch myself that I am in their company. How did I get so lucky? How did I manage to find the stable, fulfilling home I’d always dreamt of as a kid but never knew until my early forties? And how am I so fortunate to have people like you all in my life?

Thank you for being here and for your kind birthday wishes. See you on the ball field!
